Java Developer (Palo Alto)

JotSpot (http://www.jot.com) is seeking a Java Engineer that wants to get involved with a high-flying start-up. JotSpot offers the industry's leading wiki solution that is used by over 1700 customers today. The company is led by Joe Kraus, who was a co-founder of Excite, and was recently named by Business 2.0 as one of "The Next Net 25".

This development engineer will play a critical role in the development and support of JotSpot's wiki solution as it is used by enterprises.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise-class capabilities for the JotSpot wiki solution.
  • Work with the support organization to investigate and resolve complex problems faced by enterprise customers.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in the design and implementation of high-performance, high-volume web applications
  • Java skills a must, including knowledge of
    • core libraries, servlets, servlet session management
    • a wide range of Java tools: Tomcat, Ant, other Jakarta projects
    • web services (REST, SOAP)
    • Familiarity with Eclipse a plus
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with Web standards: HTML, CSS, DHTML, Javascript, XML, XPath
  • Knowledge of other programming languages desired, particularly JVM scripting languages: Groovy, Jython, Rhino Javascript
